Doggos: Forever Home is a racing game where you and your friends are dogs who were sprung from the pound trying to find your Forever Home! Meanwhile you are trying to escape the pesky dog catchers and hijinks that your other doggo buddies play on you.

Be the first to find your Forever home!

The Story:

Our dogs were trapped in the slammer for just a bit too long. They knew their time was coming up soon, and they needed to get out. It just so happened that one Fink the Rat came by their kennels one evening and made a bargain with them.
His whiskers bounced as he said, “I’ll spring ya if you get me some food when you’re out.”

The dogs knew they had very little choice but to escape. They didn’t know exactly what happened to dogs that didn’t find their forever home, but they knew they disappeared and never came back. They accepted his offer.

That night the dogs were roused by the skittering claws of Fink and a clanging coming from a key he dragged with his tail. He climbed the wire enclosure and unlocked each of their doors. He then led them to a loosened vent that they squeezed through.

Once on the outside he said to them, “Alright Doggos, you are out of the slammer, but you owe me a debt. Once it’s paid you can find your forever home! Good luck ya mutts!”

The dogs behind the game

In case you didn’t know, the doggos in the game represent real dogs in life. They served as some of the best partners we could hope for and living or in their past lives!

All dogs deserve a forever home! We encourage you and your families to consider adoption as a primary choice when selecting your new family member!

Bear: Poodle

Ellie: German Shepherd

Layla: Pit Bull

Link: Labrador Retriever

Mz. Valentyne: Chihuahua

Sasha: Boxer

These doggos are near and dear to our hearts. Some have moved on to the skies, while others are still serving as great companions.

Getting Started!

  1. Select your Doggo. Shuffle the doggos and randomly select your doggo.

  2. Prepare the Boneyard (Main Deck): Select 3 food cards per player, add in all of the Regular cards and Special Cards. Shuffle all these cards and deal each player 3 cards.

  3. Add all the remaining Event and Forever Home cards to the Boneyard. Shuffle the deck and place it so all players can reach it.

  4. Begin play: Play begins with the player who has the most adopted animals or the player that can bark, yip or make the most dog like noises.

The Rules and Cards

The Objective*: Be the first to pay Fink 3 food and draw the Forever Home card.

ACTIONS: (2 per turn)

Draw a Card: Draw a card from the Boneyard (Main Deck)

Play a Card: Play a card from your hand. You can play a maximum of one Food card per turn. Once a card is played it is placed in the Trash (discard pile) unless you are paying a food to Fink in which case it is placed on your table section as food paid to Fink the Rat.

Search the Trash: Search the Trash (discard pile) for a Regular or Special card. This action takes 2 actions and completes your turn.

*Alternate Ending: Once the Forever Home card is drawn, that player finishes first. Then reshuffle the Trash pile and Forever Home cards back into the Boneyard. The remaining doggos will see who gets their Forever Home second, and third. Even if a player would end last, they still find their Forever Home. After all, all dogs deserve their Forever Home, some just find it sooner than others!

Types of Cards:

Food: Food cards are cards that will either allow you to draw additional cards or to pay Fink.

Regular: Regular cards are cards that can be played on your turn.

Special: Special cards can be played at any time and do not require an action to play.

Event: Event cards are cards that must be played immediately upon drawing them. They will have instructions on what happens when they are played. They do not take an action to play.

Forever Home: The Forever Home card is treated like an event card in that it plays immediately and takes no actions to play. If you have paid Fink the Rat 3 food cards you find your Forever Home and win the game. If you have not, immediately shuffle the Trash pile and Forever Home card into the Boneyard.

RULES:

  1. Once a player completes their two actions or draws a card that ends it, their turn is done. The player to their left then begins their turn.

  2. Draw cards one at a time, resolving their actions as you draw them. If a card ends your turn, you draw no further cards.

  3. If an Event would let you draw more cards, a further event cannot allow you to draw more cards during that action. It is still played and other players may play a participate card to benefit from that action.

  4. The Maximum hand size is 6. If you exceed 6 cards you must discard down to six cards at the end of your turn.

  5. Cards that instruct you to draw food cards are taken from the extra food cards not used in the game first, then from the Trash pile, then if no food cards exist they may be taken from the Boneyard and then the Boneyard is reshuffled.

  6. If a card is specifically written to override a rule, the text on that card takes presidence.

  7. Ignore: These cards ignore a targeted action to a player. For example: Dog catcher cards target players individually. Pandamonium does not target any player and cannot be ignored.

  8. You cannot pay Fink the Rat more than 3 food cards at any time.
